The Office of Recovery Services (ORS) is an agency located within the Utah Department of Human Services. The office was established as a state program in the 1970's. In 1976, ORS became the designated state child support enforcement office after the passing of Title IV-D of the Social Security Act in 1975. ORS administers the state Child Support Services, Children in Care Collections and Medicaid Collections programs.

A. ORS Child Support Services has offices in Ogden, Layton, Salt Lake, Provo, Richfield and St. George. The Children in Care and Medicaid Collections programs are located in Salt Lake.
Q. How many cases does ORS handle?
A. Utah has 70,000 IV-D child support cases, 4,500 children in care cases and 28,000 Medicaid collection cases. ORS Serves a total of over 102,000 children.
